Two-day immersive training
Strike Arena First Shot™ uses our immersive laser-based training environment and recoil-enabled training pistols to teach core skills safely and confidently before transitioning to real firearms. Students learn in a no-risk, no-stress environment, building confidence and muscle memory before stepping onto a real shooting range.

Format
Course structure
A two-day weekend intensive with a 4:1 student-to-instructor ratio.
Day 1 — Strike Arena Training
~5 hours
Students train inside the Strike Arena immersive simulation environment using recoil-enabled training pistols and laser targets. Practice hundreds of times without recoil, noise, or pressure.
Day 2 — Live Range Day
~2 hours
Students visit a professional shooting range and fire 100 rounds to confirm the skills they developed during simulation training.

Students learn the universal rules of firearm safety.
The Four Universal Safety Rules
- Treat every firearm as if it is loaded
- Never point the firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy
- Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire
- Be sure of your target and what is beyond it
Students also learn:
- Muzzle discipline
- Trigger discipline
- Loading and unloading procedures
The instructor demonstrates safety using both a real unloaded firearm and the Strike Arena training gun.
Students learn the basic parts of a handgun:
- Slide, barrel, sights, trigger
- Magazine, magazine release, slide stop
Hands-on exercises include:
- Loading magazines
- Inserting magazines
- Racking the slide
- Verifying an empty firearm
The goal is to ensure students feel comfortable manipulating the firearm safely.
Students learn the proper athletic shooting stance.
Key elements:
- Feet shoulder-width apart
- Slight forward lean
- Balanced posture
- Knees slightly bent
Grip fundamentals:
- High grip on the backstrap
- Support hand wrapping the firing hand
- Thumbs forward position
- Locked wrists
Instructors provide individual corrections to ensure safe and stable shooting posture.
Students learn how handgun sights work.
Concepts include:
- Front sight focus
- Sight alignment
- Sight picture
Key principle: The front sight determines where the bullet goes.
Students perform slow presentation drills to build consistent sight alignment.
Students learn the fundamentals of trigger manipulation:
- Smooth trigger press
- Trigger reset
- Follow-through
- Impact of grip on trigger pull
Key concept: The trigger should move without disturbing the sights.

Students learn to:
- Present the firearm to the target

- Slide-lock reload
Drills allow students to repeatedly practice reload mechanics. The goal is smooth and safe manipulation.
Students learn a safe four-step draw process:
- Establish grip
- Clear the holster
- Rotate toward target
- Extend and align sights
Students practice slowly first before combining the draw with firing drills.
Safety emphasis: Finger stays off the trigger until sights are on target.
Students learn how to transition between multiple targets.
Key concept: Move your eyes first, then the firearm follows.
